Matte makeup always makes a comeback during the winter. Updating our makeup routine to a soft, flawless matte finish for winter can update our entire look, especially in a season where fatigue, blemishes, pores, lines and uneven coloration can quickly show on the face. This is where matte foundation comes in!
Application Tips For Long Lasting Matte Foundation
Step 1 – Apply a pea-sized amount of matte foundation onto your hand.
Step 2 – Using your fingertip, dab small dots of foundation onto your forehead, cheeks, each side of the nose, and the chin.
Step 3 – With a foundation brush or clean fingers, blend the matte foundation into the skin using sweeping outwards movements. Blend, blend, blend, and don’t forget the neck area!
Step 4 – For targeted blemish coverage, dab, don’t sweep, a small dot of concealer over the area once the rest of the face is dry. Pat the skin around the blemish to blend without removing the coverage.
Step 5 – Ensure an even, natural-looking finish by checking the result under natural light if possible.
How To Illuminate The Matte Look
Chandelight Glow™ Illuminator from bareMinerals is a creamy golden gel that dries to a silky powder, allowing us to build a naturally luminous soft and radiant glow. Apply this dynamic highlighter to the eyelids, cheekbones, brow bone and décolleté with the gold Complexion Perfector Brush or use your fingers to highlight your best angles or anywhere you want to capture radiant light.
It is such a beautiful product and most of the times I will apply it with my fingers and it gives the most sophisticated finish.
There are no filters or special effects on this image of me. The illumination that you can see is purely from the bareMinerals Gold Obsession Illuminator.
It was a limited edition when it was released but you can still find it in a few places so get searching online.
