Tweak’d by Nature is founded by Denis Simioni and offers versatile, advanced self-cleansing and hydrating treatments to help transform our hair no matter the hair type. The Tweak’d by Nature Restore Cleansing Hair Treatment is where my experience started with the range and I use it once a week, every week.

Who is Denis Simioni?

Denis Simioni has worked in the hair industry for 30 years and has worked for some of the largest haircare brands and manufacturers.

Denis Simioni & Ojon

Are you familiar with a brand called Ojon? This is where my passion started with clean (beauty) haircare. Ojon Restorative Hair Treatments were amazing and were created by Denis Simioni.  They were formulated with rare, powerful, natural, restorative, and transformative ingredients that were found in remote regions of the tropical rainforests of Central America. These ingredients help restore bounce, body, volume, and vibrancy to even the most damaged hair and it was formulated without preservatives, water, artificial color, and silicones.   After just one treatment, this rich Ojon balm dramatically improved the appearance of damaged hair. It was amazing! I say was because Ojon was sold to Estee Lauder in 2007 and the line was discontinued.

I still have some Ojon products now that I keep in a dark temperature controlled box and use only on special occasions.  That is how good the products are!

Denis Simioni & Tweak’d by Nature

Fast-forward 11 years and Denis Simioni is back, this time with Tweak’d by Nature and he has rebranded himself as The Ingredient Hunter.  To be fair, he always was, but now it is something he actively promotes. The range came about in response to Denis’ mum being diagnosed with cancer.  She asked her boy to help her and create some clean skin and hair products that would help soothe, hydrate, and protect her during her treatments.

Just back from Nepal, Denis had discovered Dhatelo Seed Oil, a wildcrafted ingredient growing 15,000 feet up the Himalayan Mountains. From his conversations with local Nepalese women, he had learned they churn the seed oil into a medicinal-therapeutic paste, a procedure they have practiced for centuries. Once maturated, they would apply it to their hair, to preserve suppleness, moisture, strength, and vitality, while offering protection from the harsh environmental conditions of the Himalayas.

After spending numerous sleepless nights, countless trials, and “tweak’ ing” the most promising of formulations to perfection, Restore was born! A true 5 in 1 formula, an intensive hair treatment that cleanses, detangles, and gifts the hair with an impeccable natural sheen. He made it easy for his mom to use too; it was basically “goof-proof.” So simple that she only had to use this one product to preserve and protect her hair.

This range uses wildcrafted (gathered from nature) ingredients as the foundation of its treatment based line.

At the centre of the Restore range which is for dry, damaged hair and for all hair and skin types is the Dhatelo Seed Oil and a high elevation honey (from wild nests) from the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal. Tweak’d by Nature Restore Cleansing Hair Treatment

The one product that Denis says that we should all try from Tweak’d is the Restore Cleansing Hair Treatment. It was the first product that Denis created for his mother.

It is an intensive hair treatment, used on dry hair and is designed to work as a 5 in 1 product; shampoo, hair treatment, conditioner, detangler, and shine enhancer. This powerful formula deeply penetrates the hair fibres with moisture so that we can achieve soft, sleek locks whatever the style. The product itself is inspired by an oil (Dhatelo Seed Oil) traditionally used by Nepalese women to strengthen their hair, this treatment will help keep your hair looking conditioned, shiny and manageable, while also cleansing away product residue and grime when it’s used with water.

After one use, on average there was a 94% reduction in hair breakage on chemically bleached, dry, damaged, frizzy hair vs untreated control rinsed with water. These are clinical results performed during wet combing after a single use of Restore Cleansing Hair Treatment. It is a customer top pick product around the globe.

How To Use

As a hair treatment:

• Take 1-2 teaspoons depending on hair length and emulsify in your hands
• Apply to dry hair from midlength to ends of the hair
• Leave on for 3 minutes
• Wet down the hair and reapply the same amount from root to tip, detangle with a wide-tooth comb and massage for around 1 minute
• Rinse thoroughly and style as desired
• For optimal results use once or twice a week

As a shampoo:

• Apply a generous amount to wet hair and rub it into the lengths of your hair, from mid-shaft to end, to use it as a cleansing treatment
• Massage for a minute
• Rinse it off as you would a regular shampoo until there is no residue
• Use once or twice a week

My Opinion

I am so excited about this range.  It offers amazing results and uses superior ingredients. Ojon was good but Tweak’d by Nature I would say is even better.  Denis was always driven to find the best ingredients but he took his ingredient finding days to a whole new level.  Of course, his journey is inspired by his mum but listening to Denis, I can sense he is in a whole new phase in his life with even more passion for what he does. I am sure Amanda Strachan has something to do with it, who is his gorgeous fiancée.

I naturally shed a lot of hair and always have done but I have noticed more since the birth of my daughter.  My hair is now naturally a salt & pepper colour which I regularly colour and highlight.  I want to look my best but not at the expense of my hair.  This treatment is a 5-in-1.  This treatment does not strip the hair and it does coat the hair in silicones and there are no sulphates in this cleanser.  It uses saponins to cleanse our scalp and hair which is a natural surfactant. Denis uses a Madagascar vanilla, yellow coconut from Bali, grapes, oats, & honey and the smell is divine; amber, vanilla, and honey. It is so easy and the results are incredible! I love it so much I bought it in a bucket size (453g).
