The Trussardi Women’s Perfume Collection today exposes the classic Trussardi woman to new fragrances that open up a world of timeless sensations, immediately attributable to the iconic idea of the Mediterranean femme-fatal now famous the world over. From sweet, seductive and strongly recognisable notes, to those that are more controversial and irresistible, each fragrance is designed to enhance the distinctive characteristics and idiosyncrasies of women everywhere.
In 1910, Dante Trussardi, master glove-maker, set up his company in Bergamo, Italy, creating finely made gloves which were soon sold all over the world. Nicola, Dante Trussardi’s nephew was born in Bergamo in 1942. In 1970, Nicola Trussardi, took over the company after the sudden death of his father and brother.
Trussardi ventured into the world of fragrances in 1983 with Trussardi Uomo for men and Trussardi for women in 1984. Other fragrances followed, and Trussardi secured the label Made in Italy for itself and other fine companies whose adherence to luxurious products matched that of its own. In the 1990s, Trussardi expanded into the Asian markets with great success.
In 1999, Nicola Trussardi died in an auto accident, and another member of the family, Beatrice Trussardi, took over the company. Under her direction, the fragrance collection expanded and includes the well-known Trussardi 1911. As of August 2014, the latest addition to the Trussardi line is Trussardi A Way for Her. The house boasts 29 fragrances.
Trussardi My Name
After the men’s fragrance My Land released in 2012, the House of Trussardi released the female partner, My Name. Both fragrances are inspired by Italian lifestyle and by the city of Milan. My Name was released in September 2013 and is targeted to women between 25 and 45 age group.
It is not a hard hitting strong fragrance. This fragrance represents for me that spring is in the air; extended daylight, rising temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna. It is a fragrance invoking spring promise. It is fresh, floral, delicate yet still with medium to strong impact.
The base notes are vanilla and amber.
The middle notes are arum lily, musk and lilac.
The top notes are heliotrope and white violet.
Trussardi My Name is a symphony of fine, noble ingredients that present a confident and irresistible woman, emphasising her elegance and seductive prowess. She is to be taken seriously and yet still has a light playful side. The main composition mid and top notes open with the white violet, heliotrope and lilac and the finish closes on the more delicate features of arum, vanilla, musk and ambroxan which gives this fragrance its sensuality establishing the sophisticated status of the woman who wears it.
The nose behind this fragrance is Aurelien Guichard. He is very well known and respected in the perfume world and has created many famous perfumes for many brands.
I reach for this fragrance every spring and it takes me from spring through to the summer months.
