The sun affects the whole body including the lips. Our lips are prone to issues such as dryness, and sunburn during the summer, making them incredibly uncomfortable and sore when it happens. It is very important that we protect our lips, as important as our daily SPF. Here are my suggestions for summer lip care.
Exfoliate the Lips
Summer Lip Care – Just like the rest of our skin, lips can collect dead skin cells and residue. Exfoliate them once a week with a lip scrub.

Moisturise the Lips
Summer Lip Care – Chapped lips are often associated with the winter, but it can still be a concern in the summer. In fact, with lips exposed to excess heat, UV rays, and moisture-sucking air conditioning, lips can be left feeling shrivelled and sore. To keep dry, cracked lips at bay, moisturise with hydrating lip treatment products often.

Sun Protection for the Lips
Summer Lip Care – Lips don’t have melanin, which makes them more susceptible to sun damage caused by UV exposure. Be sure to grab a lip balm or lipstick with at least SPF 15.

Hydrate the Lips
Dehydration, in general, will lead to dry skin and this includes the lips. For healthy skin, head to toe, stay hydrated.
Maintain a healthy diet: Healthy skin begins on the inside. Choose a healthy, balanced diet for healthy, glowing skin—including the lips.
