I love my perfume. I know that I don’t write weekly on perfume, but this is more to do with the fact that I am always on the hunt for something special. I try so many perfumes across the spectrum of brands, and yet many smell the same. I will only write or mention a perfume, if it gets my personal seal of approval. You have requested this article so here it is, these are my perfume suggestions for Valentine’s Day.
Acqua di Parma Oud
The Oud Eau de Parfum by Acqua di Parma is an amber woody fragrance. The bewitching fragrance is Top notes are Orange and Calabrian bergamot; middle notes are Agarwood (Oud), Amyris and Coriander; base notes are Leather, Sandalwood, Cedar, Musk and Patchouli.
If you are looking for a seductive, alluring, entrancing fragrance that can be worn day and/or night, this is it!
Oud is a strong luxury fragrance and yet the blend is so smooth, that it fuses with the skin and becomes an incredible signature scent.
I am completely obsessed with this perfume. This for me, is my number 1 recommendation!
Acqua di Parma Ambra
Ambra Eau de Parfum by Acqua di Parma is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men. The unmistakably elegant fragrance combines the intense essence of ambergris with notes of bergamot, rose, patchouli, and sandalwood.
It has top notes are Orange, Calabrian bergamot and Petitgrain; middle notes are Cedar, Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha, Rose and Patchouli; base notes are Ambergris, Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla and Labdanum.
This is another luxurious fragrance. From the same fragrance house of my number 1 recommendation, Oud. The Ambra is a warmer fragrance and more intense than the Oud due to the ambergris.
Ambergris is used as a fixative to help scents last longer and it is incredibly rare and expensive.
The Perfume Society say that it can smell a bit like the wood in old churches. I don’t agree 100% but I understand what they mean by describing it in this way. I think you will too once this scent has titillated your nose.
This perfume is extremely intense and the most intense suggested in this article. This is my go-to evening fragrance; Ambra is a hypnotising fragrance that says to the special person in your life that they are exquisite.
Acqua di Parma Sakura
This is the third and final recommendation (for this article) from Acqua di Parma.
Since 1916, Acqua di Parma has cultivated its unique style by creating a collection of iconic perfumes and colognes symbolising Italian luxury.
Sakura Eau de Parfum by Acqua di Parma is a Citrus fragrance for women and men. Top notes are Yellow Mandarin, Calabrian bergamot and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Cherry Blossom and Jasmine Sambac; base note is Musk.
This is a glamorous daytime fragrance. The richness of the sakura flower is recreated and combined with notes of bergamot, pink pepper, and jasmine sambac in a fragrance that evokes the spectacle of blossoming cherry trees. This fragrance is perfect for the spring. It is delicate, sexy, feminine, illuminating fragrance.
If Ambra and Oud are too overwhelming of the senses, try Sakura.
Sisley Izia La Nuit
Izia La Nuit by Sisley is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. This is a new fragrance launched in 2021. Top notes are Black Currant, Cardamom and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Rose, Freesia and Magnolia; base notes are Patchouli, Labdanum, Ambroxan and Vanilla.
This is a very romantic fragrance, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Izia la Nuit is an ode to the night, a tribute to a mysterious and unique rose found in Isabelle d’Ornano‘s garden that only blooms once a year for a short time.
Inspired by the original Izia, a bright, airy floral scent, Izia La Nuit offers a renewed intensity combined with the warmth brought by vanilla and amber blends with the sensuality of the rose. Izia la Nuit is a sophisticated and modern scent which combines fruity and colorful notes with deep woody and leathery facets for an elegant, long lasting trail.
The sculptural bottle created by artist Bronislaw Krzysztof is adorned with a mysterious, glossy lacquer. Its deep black shade contrasts with the delicate golden film that reflects the luminous juice.
If your partner is a lover of rose fragrances, this would be my recommendation.
Jo Malone Vetiver & Golden Vanilla
Vetiver & Golden Vanilla by Jo Malone London is a Amber Woody fragrance for women launched in 2020.
This deliciously sensual scent opens with a dash of cardamom and the freshness of grapefruit tea, ushering in the earthy depths of native vetiver. Precious vanilla bourbon warms and envelops, hand-picked from the orchid-sown jungle.
This perfume is addictive perfect for day and night. Another firm favourite of mine along with Jo Malone’s Myrrh and Tonka Cologne Intense which has notes of lavender, myrrh and tonka bean.
Chanel Coco Noir
Coco Noir by Chanel is a Amber Woody fragrance for women. Coco Noir was launched in 2012. Coco Noir was created by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake. Top notes are Grapefruit, Bergamot and Orange; middle notes are Rose, Geranium, Jasmine, Narcissus and Peach; base notes are Patchouli, Sandalwood, Olibanum, Tonka Bean, Vanille, White Musk, Cloves and Benzoin.
This was my wedding fragrance and one of the most beautiful Chanel fragrances.
Twilly d’Hermès by Hermès
Twilly d’Hermès by Hermès is a Floral fragrance (with depth) for women launched in 2017. Top notes are Ginger, Bitter Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are Tuberose, Orange Blossom and Jasmine; base notes are Sandalwood and Vanilla.
I have owned and re-purchased this fragrance many times. Not as long lasting as all the other fragrances above so with this one, I like to fragrance layer. I use the body lotion in the same fragrance and spray the EDP over the top.
My Perfume Suggestions for Valentine’s Day
I want to pick a handful of fragrances as my perfume suggestions for Valentine’s Day 2022. I own and repeat purchase all of the above. If I had to pick one (which is so difficult because I love all 7), I would lean towards Acqua di Parma Oud. It has the perfect balance of fragrance notes that work for day and night, and for all seasons.
