MAMA MIO is founded by Obstetricians / Gynaecologists in 2004 and they specialise in pregnancy skincare. They were one of the very first brands dedicated entirely to pregnancy skincare. Their range consists of creams formulated to prevent and target stretch marks, super-gentle cleansing wipes and omega-rich body lotions. They say that their range contains all the essentials for new or expecting mothers.

I have heard a lot about this range and I wanted to try it. This has nothing to do with the Kardashians even if Mama Mio promote that the Kardashian sisters have been loving their products.

What Is The MAMA MIO Range About?

Mama Mio is developed specifically to soothe, strengthen, nourish and protect skin during pregnancy, and beyond. Mama Mio’s range of nutritive products work to firm and fortify boobs, bottoms and bumps, so the body ‘bounces’ back once the baby is born. Their products contain fatty acids, omegas 3, 6 and 9 (which naturally deplete during pregnancy). They promote the fact that their topical products consist of the finest, natural ingredients – usually reserved for facial skin care products – to maintain skin’s elasticity and reduce the risk of stretch marks as the body expands. What’s more, no parabens, xenoestrogen, PEG, phthalate or synthetic colour or fragrance in any Mama Mio product, so all are totally safe for both mother and baby. The ultimate must-haves for mothers-to-be.

What Did I Try?

I wanted to dip my toe in the water initially and I saw online that they have a Pregnancy Essentials Kit all at 30ml sizes to try what they consider as the ‘must-haves’ of their pregnancy range:

The Tummy Rub Butter (30ml)

My Opinion

I am really enjoying all the products from the textures, to the quality of the ingredients, to the fragrances, and I am very tempted to buy more. The one thing that I am a little disappointed in is that the Tummy Rub Oil is not included in this kit. I would consider the oil to be just as important as the other 4 items. When I looked online, I could not find any kit they offer that includes both the Tummy Rub Butter and the Tummy Rub Oil together.

For anyone searching for pregnancy skincare, this is a great brand to try.
