I have wanted to write an article on perfume for a little while. Having tried lots but they were very uninspiring, that is until I unboxed LIBRE EAU DE PARFUM from Yves Saint Laurent.

LIBRE, released in 2019, the feminine fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent, the freedom to live everything with excess.
This is the perfume of a strong, bold, and free woman experimenting with her freedom. The first floral lavender with a definite tension between the burning sensuality of orange blossom from Morocco & the boldness of lavender from France with a feminine twist. The couture sharp angle bottle, the iconic Cassandre logotype freely bent & nailed into the glass like a jewel and sexy golden chains asymmetric black lacquered cap that tops it all off. The scent of freedom!
Base notes are musk, ambergris, cedar, and Madagascar vanilla.
Middle notes are orange blossom, lavender, and jasmine.
Top notes are petitgrain, blackcurrant, lavender, and mandarin orange.
LIBRE (2019) is an oriental fougère fragrance.
Oriental Fougère (pronounced foozh-air) is a harmony of oriental components (warm woody and spicy notes) and is refreshed with aromatic lavender, rosemary, coumarin, and oakmoss.
I would say that it is a full-bodied, high-intensity fragrance and very long-lasting; perfectly balanced for day or nightwear. It is a sensual and heady floral scent created by Master Perfumers: Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm.
Who are the Master Perfumers of LIBRE?
Anne Flipo is one of an elite group entitled to call herself ‘Master Perfumer’, a title given by IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) to their most experienced and talented perfumers. Anne has worked with IFF since 2004 and the list of her creations would keep you scrolling and scrolling, but highlights include Burberry Brit Rhythm, Chloé Love Story, Jimmy Choo Illicit, Paco Rabanne Lady Million (with Dominique Ropion and Beatrice Piquet) – and recently, so-successfully, The Herb Garden Collection for Jo Malone London, in which she was able to express her own passion for gardening. My Opinion
This white floral aromatic with a touch of spice is a sophisticated fragrance and a perfect balance of masculine and feminine notes. It is a statement perfume and one that inspires compliments from men and women alike. I adore this fragrance. I believe freedom is having the power to choose with confidence and conviction and when I spray LIBRE onto my skin, this is how it makes me feel. I feel like I can take on the world!
In Cyprus, this perfume is available in Beauty Line stores and it is where I bought mine. It is available as a 30ml, 50ml, and 90ml Eau de Parfum.
