I like strong fragrances and I love a Chypre Floral to take me into Spring. Lancôme Idôle L’Intense launched in 2020 and is a Chypre Floral fragrance that I love!
A chypre floral fragrance is a classic woody base beautifully blended with a generous bouquet which often includes jasmine, rose, and lilly of the valley.
Lancôme Idôle L’Intense
Lancôme Idôle Intense Eau de Parfum, the new intense version of the best selling Idôle Le Parfum.
Idôle L’Intense is a stronger version than the original fragrance hence the name, It is a warm flamboyant floral, wrapped in chypre accord and sensual vanilla. This sensual and feminine fragrance will certainly turn heads.
According to the brand, “the Idôle bottle, designed by architect and industrial designer Chafik Gasmi, is the fitting tribute to the industry’s technical advances and innovations. The Idôle bottle being arguably one of the slimmest in the world at just 15mm thick.”
The base notes are acácia, cashmere wood, patchouli, Madagascar vanilla, cedar & sandalwood
The middle notes are Turkish rose, Grasse rose, Egyptian jasmine, jasmine sambac , jasmine & musk.
The top notes are bitter orange & mandarin orange.
Idôle L’Intense was created by Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina-Baez and Nadege le Garlantezec.
Shyamala Maisondieu launched Idôle, Mademoiselle Rochas eau de toilette, Charogne by État Libre d’Orange, and Avantgarde by Lanvin, She is the third female recipient of Le Prix François Coty (2019) which is one of the most prestigious awards in the perfume industry. Lancôme Idôle Mascara
Just when I thought things could not get better from Lancôme, they launch Idôle Mascara.
Lancôme Idôle Mascara is for volumising and lengthening our lashes.
This mascara has a curved wand that pushes up and fans out lashes for an open-eye effect with up to 24 hours of lasting power. 360 micro-size bristles grab and lengthen every lash from root to tip (no matter how small), while the lightweight gel formula leaves the lashes feathery soft—without flaking, clumping, or smudging.
Clinical Results: In a consumer test on a panel of 103 women:
- 95% saw an instant lash lift
- 94% saw instant volume
- 90% saw clump-free lashes
My opinion on Lancôme Idôle L’Intense & Mascara
When I spray Lancôme Idôle L’Intense I feel uplifted and in a world submerged in Covid-19 doom and gloom, I have a yearning to be inspired.
The original Idôle fragrance was ok but there was something missing for me and it did not last very long. The Idôle L’Intense has more depth to it. The only way I can describe it is, it’s the grown-up version of the original and is much longer-lasting as you would expect. On my skin, the rose middle notes render a scent that is potent, fresh and intoxicating.
The roses most commonly used in perfumery and used in Lancôme Idôle L’Intense are the Turkish rose, the Damask (or Damascene rose) and Rosa Centifolia (the ‘hundred-leafed rose’), which is grown around Grasse in the south of France, and generally considered to produce the highest quality rose absolute.
I am still searching for a replacement of Molton Brown Rosa Absolute which was discontinued. The roses in that perfume were from Lombardia which produces a deeper, darker and dramatic rose. The Lancôme Idôle L’Intense does not have the rose intensity of Molton Brown Rosa Absolute. It falls on the fruitier side with medium intensity but it is still a pleasure to wear and one that I will re-purchase.
The Lancôme Idôle Mascara is good!
It is not the best mascara I have ever used but it is definitely a good mascara. I am used to tubing mascaras and it hard to go back. to a ‘normal’ mascara.
The Lancôme Idôle Mascara is a gel emulsion mascara formula providing a feather-light feel and zero clumps that lasts up to 24h wear. It does not clump, flake or smudge but after 2 coats of mascara, I was hoping for more.
Idôle gave me length but I wanted fullness; the result was a little too natural for my liking. As an everyday mascara, this is perfect!
