Improve Nail Health with Cuticle Oil
Anything from dry, cold weather to repeated hand-washing can do a number on the skin on your hands, particularly our cuticles. In fact, they’re even more prone to wear-and-tear since they surround the nails, which are constantly growing. While using hand cream to hydrate dry skin may be second nature, one important step that people tend to skip is cuticle oil. In order to improve nail health, use cuticle oil.
What is a Cuticle Oil?
Cuticle oil is usually composed of a fruit or nut oil—olive, apricot, almond, avocado, coconut—specifically applied to cuticles (the skin surrounding the fingernails). Cuticle oil helps nourish both the cuticle and the nails. If you are suffering from nail splitting, chipping, or peeling, you need to be using cuticle oil. Nail oil can be applied as often as we like since there’s really no such thing as too much hydration for dry fingers and nails (especially now!).
Cuticle Oils to Try
Cuticle oil keeps nails hydrated at the root (matrix), flexible, strong, and is extremely important when it comes to nail health.
OPI Pro Spa Nail & Cuticle Oil
OPI Avoplex Cuticle oil was my trusted favourite cuticle oil and had been in my beauty kit for over 20 years. Sadly it was discontinued by the manufacturer in the summer of 2017. Pro Spa, nail cuticle oil replaces it.
Pro SPA is an ultra-nourishing & fast-absorbing formula that helps protect, replenish and strengthen all levels of the nail. It delivers a healthy dose of hydrating avocado, grape seed, sesame, sunflower, kukui, and cupuaçu oils.
This oil delivers relief from ailing cuticles within a week of daily use.

The dropper is ideally shaped to go around the nail with the slightest touch, it releases just the right amount exactly where it is needed.

It comes in multiple sizes including an on-the-go brush applicator tube.

Honestly, all of these cuticle oils are excellent and I repeat purchase all of them. I know there are a lot more on the market but I will only recommend products I have tried.
In my handbag right now, I have my Nails Inc Superfood Repair Oil and my Pro Nails Vitamina Cuticle Oil but I rotate them with any and all of the above!
