How I Clean My Makeup Brushes
I always use clean brushes. I never re-use a brush once the look is completed, not even on me. Not only this, it is so important to clean and look after our makeup brushes to ensure that we get a beautiful makeup result every time!
To clean my brushes, I use soap and a silicone cleansing mat. Silicone is best because nothing sticks to it, it cleanses fully, and doesn’t harbour bacteria.
For soap, I like to use L’Occitane .
My cleansing mat is from Real Techniques.
Most of my brushes are Zoeva Cosmetics and Spectrum Collections.
For my own brushes, I wash them daily first thing in the morning as I drink my coffee.
For my clients, I try to wash the brushes used on the same day no matter how many looks I have done. If I don’t manage on the same day, the following morning, They are done and laid flat to dry.
It is better to let them air dry places over an edge if you can but when I have too many brushes, I don’t currently have a place to put them so I use a microfiber towel instead. If you use brushes, please wash them often!
You do not need to be as meticulous as I am but you should wash them weekly.
