What is Micellar Water?
Originally a French skincare staple back in the 1990s, micellar water is a multitasking product loved for its ability to cleanse the skin fast and remove makeup, all in one step.
Makeup artists love micellar water because it’s a quick, effective makeup remover that’s gentle enough to apply to the face of a model who may be going in and out of three different full makeup applications in one busy day on the runways.
Micellar water works by using micelles (tiny molecules that remove dirt, makeup, and other impurities) to cleanse your skin, and it doesn’t contain soap or other ingredients that might cause irritation. It is super easy to use and quick, so there’s no reason to skip it at night. All we have to do is soak a cotton pad with micellar water and gently wipe your face to remove the day’s grime—no rinsing required.
It’s a great alternative to makeup wipes and so much more effective, especially for busy people, because it’s gentle yet very effective.

La Roche-Possay Peaux Sensibles Micellar Water 750 ml
Specially developed for sensitive skin, this make-up remover will cleanse and remove make-up from our face, lips, and eyes.
It is pH balanced with high cleaning and make-up removing efficacy, it contains surfactants specially selected for optimal tolerance but without alcohol, soap, dye, and parabens. It contains thermal water from Roche-Posay and our skin is left clean and comfortable. This is a paraben-free formula and suitable for all skin types.

My Opinion
In all honesty, all four above are excellent and suitable for all skin types, even sensitive. But, my all-time favourite is the Decléor Rose Damascena Micellar Cleansing Water. For me, Decléor has nailed a deep cleanse with skin protection thanks to the Rose Damascena; also known as the Turkish Rose, and is one of the most expensive roses available.
This micellar delivers quick, easy, and deep cleansing and my skin loves it. There is no longer an excuse to use facial wipes. They are harsh and drying on the skin. Most of the time, to get a deep cleanse with wipes and to remove all traces of makeup, a ridiculous amount of wipes are needed to be used. In my opinion, wipes are not economical and they are not effective.
The Decléor Rose Damascena Micellar Cleansing Water even removes waterproof mascara effortlessly and there is no need to tone afterwards. This is not the case with the other micellars. It is the case with Decléor’s because of the Rose Damascena.
